SUBJECT: 3nd Annual Bass Tournament

The 3nd Annual Bass Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009. The tournament is a one day event with the purpose of bringing in a total combined weight and live release. This year’s tournament has the same format as last year. There will be two (2) Divisions: ADULT (16) and older & JUNIOR (15 or younger as of July 1, 2009). The Rules and Regulations is the same as last year, and a copy will be provided to each angler during registration. The Annual Social Event will follow the awards presentations.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

1. General: The Tournament is open to all family members of the Association and their guests. As stated above, anglers will be classified into (2) Divisions - ADULTS (16 years and older as of July 1, 2009) and JUNIORS (under 16 years old as of June 30, 2009). Standings will be determined by total weight of a 3 fish limit. Within the Adult Division, entrants 18 years old or older, as of July 1st, will have the opportunity to register for a “Big Bass Calcutta”. Only those registered for the Tournament will be eligible for this optional competition. The winner of this event will be the angler who brings in the biggest bass, weight wise, and he/she will take the whole pot.
2. Registration and Entry fees: All participants must register NLT 7:30 am EDT on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Official Weigh-in Location (Lot #31 - Launikitis cottage). Early registrations will be accepted during the 2 weeks preceding the tournament date. Tournament fees shall be $3.00 for adults (16 & older) and juniors $1.00. Fee for the “Big Bass Calcutta" is $5.00.
3. Competition Hours: Official starting time to BEGIN fishing is 8:00 am EDT. This time will be indicated by a loud air horn blast. END of fishing is 1:00 pm EDT which will also be indicated by a loud air horn blast. Fishermen will be required to be within 25 yards of the official weigh-in location NLT 1:15 pm EDT. Fishermen and/or boats not in this area after 1:15 pm EDT will not be considered for any weigh-in of fish, and not be ineligible for any prizes.
4. Tournament Creel and Size Limit: Legal fish for this tournament include the Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass only. The minimum legal length of fish will be twelve (12) inches or more. Each boat should have a ruler to ensure that each fish meets this requirement. The “official ruler” (Golden Ruler) will be at the weigh-in location. At no time shall each competitor have more than three (3) fish in his/her possession. Possession of more than three fish will result in disqualification.
5. Pre-Tournament Fishing: Fishing, by registered fishermen or those planning on registering, must terminate by 11:00 am EDT on the Friday prior to the tournament day. This restriction is necessary so that all registered fishermen will be able to compete fairly, with a zero fish catch at the start of the tournament.

All "Derby" participants and Lake Members are invited to the Awards Ceremony at Lot #31 for refreshments, which will start about 1:45 pm EDT. You don't have to fish to attend this social, and the only thing that you have to bring is yourself.

Hello everyone! I am going to catch up on all the great photos & chat sent out over the email list over the winter and spring. I'll compile them into one big "blog post" with photos and post that.
Meanwhile it's a wonderful spring day in California and the vegetable seedlings are coming right along.
